Intern Lead: Northwest Institute for Architecture and Urban Studies in Italy (NIAUSI)  (July 2010 & July 2011)
  • Researched and developed a cataloging scheme for a private nonprofit library containing roughly 2,400 items.
  • Supervised a team of three other interns to reorganize books, help refine bibliographic web module needs, and enter metadata for each item into central database under tight time constraints.
  • Created protocol and begin to implement a labeling system for the library.
  • Inventoried and assessed remaining collections, including slides, architectural drawings, artwork, personal correspondence, and business documentation. Made best practices recommendations for the continuing care of the collections.

Taxonomy/Indexing Consultant: University of Washington Special Collections Book Arts Collection (Seattle, WA, Spring 2011)
  • Worked with a team and Special Collections staff to create a thesaurus for the Book Arts Collection at the University of Washington (including domain analysis and functional analysis).
  •  Submitted thesaurus to TaxoBank online taxonomy resource site; available online.

Collections Intern: Frye Art Museum (Dec. 2009 - Mar. 2010)
  • Assessed and prioritized museum’s data needs with supervisor; outlined project timeline.
  • Researched, cross-referenced and standardized entries for museum loans in Content Management System (Proficio); created records and assigned numbers for loans and loan items. 
  • Performed   and reported on basic strategic assessment of museum’s library and archives for future work.
